SummaryProspective tenants need to meet the Trust's criteria having worked for Christianity during their careers, in churches or missions, either in the UK or abroad and are unable to provide a home of their own. The Fairfield Trust is a UK registered charity, providing quality rented property, at subsidised rates, for committed Christians. The majority of flats consist of one bedroom, one living room, kitchen and bathroom. However, as they have been sympathetically created within two large Victorian villas, they are all different, yet retain much of the unique character of the period. All have gas central heating & double glazed, fully insulated and carpeted. There are attractive communal hallway entrances to all flats with lifts to the upper floors, for easy access. There are tranquil communal gardens and off road parking at both buildings
A Community of Christians Prime Location in Torquay, South West England
Fairfield is located in a quiet residential part of Torquay, Devon, in a conservation area overlooking Torbay, near to the picturesque village of Cockington. A selection of local shops are situated just a few hundred yards away, in Old Mill Road and Walnut Road.
Fairfield is set in very peaceful surroundings with extensive gardens and sea views.
Fairfield and Fairfield West are two large, neighbouring, Victorian Villas, which have been substantially renovated and upgraded in recent years.
The properties provide fifteen one bedroom flats between them, each equipped for 'independent living'. In addition, there is one flat comprising three bedrooms that is available as a guest flat, for families or close friends of residents to use when visiting Fairfield. The residential flats are all self-contained with one bedroom and are large enough for either a couple or single person to live in comfort. Off street parking is available in addition to a limited number of garages, available at a small additional rent.
The Trust employs a manager who visits the properties for a couple of hours, twice a week. Flats are let unfurnished, on long-term assured short-hold tenancies (normally a minimum 6 months) at preferential rates. Many of our residents have been with us for over ten years. Rents and service charges are kept to a minimum and residents with limited incomes/savings are normally eligible to apply for Housing Benefit from the local authority.
